How close to the university do families live?

Most host families live within a 45 minute bus ride of the university. Some families live in the suburbs, usually far enough from the university that you would need to drive. We are usually able to find a host family for you that meets your location preferences.

What is included in the homestay?

Every homestay offers a private bedroom. Bathrooms are sometimes private and sometimes shared with other family members. All utilities, including heat, electric, and wi-fi are included. Groceries are also included in the cost.

Can I have friends come to the host home?

Each family has different rules about having friends in the home, but the answer is almost always yes. Many families would be very happy to meet your friends.

How much does the homestay cost?

The cost of the homestays varies by city. Please contact us by filling out the homestay application form to find out what the cost is in your city.

Will a family help me with my homework?

Families are not expected to help students with their homework. Families will speak with students and help them practice their English in a more personal way.

How long is the lease for a host family?

The initial commitment to live with a host family is 3 months. After that, it continues on a month-to-month basis as long as you and the family agree to live together.
